Bread Recipe!

OK so I have been wanting to add my favorite recipes for a while now but keep forgetting to take pictures while I make stuff! oops lol I decided to add our most favorite bread recipe without any pictures than add them as I remember to take them later on.

We make all our bread with our Red Fife Wheat! We grind it as fine as we can than we sift half of it to get all the bigger bran out and then we use half whole wheat and half sifted flour to make the bread. Ive made it both ways 100% whole wheat and 50 50. Both ways came out fine but the 50 50 was lighter we found.

So this makes 7 loaves but the bread freezes wonderfully if you cant use it all up.

In a big bowl measure in 7 1/2 cups warm water (not too hot cause we don't want to kill the yeast)

Sprinkle 3 1/2 TBL yeast in the water and let set for 5 minutes.

Add 2 cups sweetener (honey, sugar etc)

2 cups oil (olive oil gives it the best taste but any oil works)

3 1/2 TBL salt

Mix altogether. Add in your flour till dough is stiff enough to knead. knead for about 3 or 4 minutes. Put back in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place for an hour. Punch down and let rise for another hour. Dump out onto the table and divide into 6 or 7 lumps of dough (depending on the size of loaves you want to make). Shape loaves and put into greased pans. Put pans into oven and let rise half an hour or until bread is higher than top of pans. Cook @ 350 degrees for 50 minutes to an hour or until brown!

Take out of pans, let cool on cooling racks or a bath towel or have yourself a nice hot piece of bread with butter!! !

Enjoy!
