Rusted Rooster Farm

August 25th Farm Tour

Where humans, animals, crops and machines live in harmony!

Rusted Rooster Farm invites you to our 6th annual farm tour/ grain walk, on August 25, 2019, starting at 1pm and ending with a pot luck supper!

We are super excited to have a guest, Mark Fulford, in cooperation with Slow Money Maine and Maine Grain Alliance. He will be bringing the Almaz cleaner and a solar bubble dryer and to show off our new grain cleaning set up in the new grain building!

The day will start off @1:00 with the demo in the grain building. We will show you our set up and how we clean and dry the grains as well as have Mark Fulford demonstrate the Almaz cleaner & solar bubble dryer as part of the Post-harvest Grain Project. This project is intended to bring efficient & effective strategies for cleaning, drying, & storing high quality grains & to increase market value of a wide variety of grains through the use of innovative equipment.

Later we will walk you through our fields and talk about the crops, soil health and our diversified livestock collection, ending with a potluck supper around 4-5. Anyone who wants to can decorate a marshmallow hay bale! There will be all kinds of animals to see and pet, including a foal named April!

We look forward to seeing you all!
